Speechless knowing the topic of the English debate this year – the Chief Executive and Legislative Council should be elected by universal suffrage in 2012. My mind is still blank, even after having searched for some information for writing the essay. No ideas! What am I expected to write?
I must stress that I am just too self-centred. People disagree with me? I don’t care! As long as I have made decisions according to my own point of view, what the others think is beyond my curiosity, and none of my business. I don’t change their views nor do they change mine. Why should we argue? The fact demonstrates who the winner is! Just let it be natural.
I wonder why I was elected as one of the debaters last year. Couldn’t you all observe my attribute and that I am not good at presenting orally? And, most importantly, do you think I, who do not like talking much as you can observe, would like to debate? Do you think I did what a debater should do? Come on, the answers are so simple. I didn’t enjoy the debate at all. If you decide not to nominate me because of my unsatisfactory performance last year, congratulations, and go ahead! You have a clear mind, and have made a wise decision. You have saved our class. As for my beloved ‘friends’, if you want to nominate me, thanks for your trust in my ability, but sorry, I must admit that you are not maximizing the interest of our class. I beg you not to nominate me, please, please, and please.
Well, I am so uninterested in politics, and debate. And I so long for becoming a spectator of English debate, a post of which I haven’t tired, whenever my class is to join in it. I will appreciate it very much if you all can satisfy my desire. Remember not to make me a debater. Thanks all for your cooperation. Thanks.
